YES! It is called FRAUD and THEFT OF MERCHANDISE OR SERVICES. When caught (and you will be) indited and put on trial, the odds are 99 to 1 that you will be convicted and go to jail and made to pay a hefty fine and possubly reinburse the people that you defrauded by using a fake credit card.
What happens if you use a fake credit card number?
A fake number would be rejected out of hand. In addition, the billing address is checked. This, again, will fail, as there is nothing to check against. If, however, the payment processing system are offline, the site may choose to accept any valid-looking card.
Is it a crime to use a fake credit card?
Nope. Credit card companies simply will not prosecute such a crime. Merchants cannot – they have no standing.
